Description

The laboratory Dutchman is made entirely of stainless steel material. With a capacity of 23 l, the container is suitable for grinding 360 g of pulp. The knives have a diameter of approx. 190-194 mm and are approx. 152 mm wide. The counter knife consists of seven lead cast knives with a thickness of 3.2 mm. The counter knife and the bottom of the laboratory dutch are sealed with a rubber plate. The device is particularly safe due to the cover of the tub.


Experiment

description 360 g of pulp are chopped by hand into pieces of approx. 25x25 mm, soaked in water and opened with the standard whipping device. After the pulp sample has been opened, the suspension is introduced into the Dutchman
and made up to 23 l with water. The laboratory Dutchman starts and remains in operation for 3 minutes without weight. A sample is taken before the actual grinding. Then a weight of 5.5 kg is
fixed on the loading arm and the grinding process is started. A first sample is taken after 5 minutes. At regular intervals (5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes for bleached pulp, 5, 15, 30, 60 and 90 minutes for unbleached pulp). The pulp can now be used for the production of test sheets.
